Committees, Why and How.
The club as a whole is run via members committees, which are voted for at the A.G.M. by the members. These are put in place to organize the various areas of the club so they run to every body’s satisfaction. The members of these committees are unpaid volunteers.
Below is a brief description of what each committee does. Click on the committee name to view the members list.
Made up of the chairmen/chairwomen of all the other committees plus the Club Chairman, President, Treasurer and Head coach. This committee has the final say on issues of club expenditure and Investment. Trying at all times to steer the club in the right direction for future growth and prosperity. Organises and runs Tournaments, inter club tennis, promotions such as open days and liaises with the head pro to make sure all areas of the coaching programme are functioning. Looks at the future of tennis and makes recommendations to the main committee. Functions the same as the tennis committee representing the views of the squash section to the main committee as well as organizing the internal tournaments and inter club matches. Meets once a month to assess and improve the junior tennis within the club. Organising junior tournaments and matches, liaising with the Head pro about coaching as well as generally trying to provide a fun environment for the juniors. And again make the necessary recommendations to the main committee. Organises and implements the social calendar at the club as well as the hiring of the clubhouse. Takes care of advertising of events and reports to the main committee. Organises staff and opening times for the bar as well as product changes and improvements. Looks after the financial side of running a club bar and makes sure it’s all in order. In charge of maintenance and assessment of safety within the clubhouse and out buildings.
