Title: Chris Arnheim
A few years back, Geoff Stephenson caught me in a weak moment, and asked if I would be willing to serve (alongside Mary Davies and Charles McCardle) as a trustee of the club. I had no idea what to expect, but was keen to support Geoff’s efforts as Chairman, so agreed to be a trustee.
As a number of my friends (?) have pointed out, this is a perfect role for me. I have no authority (so can’t screw up), but simply attend the Club’s Main Committee meetings and keep an eye on the people who do all the work, making sure they do their best for the membership as a whole. If they do ok, as they usually do, then I give them a gentle, patronising, pat on the back.
If they look like they are about to go off the rails (which fortunately is rare), I pull the communication cord, stage a tantrum, write a letter to the members, and generally try to be as much of a nuisance as possible (all for the good of the club, you understand). So if you want me to stage a tantrum, contact me on: cja@arnheimsolicitors.co.uk.
Apart from a good game of tennis, what could be more fun?
