I took over from Susan Finch on 14th January. I would like to thank Sue, Judith, Penny and many others… for holding the fort over the past weeks, and teaching me the ropes. Sue has produced an excellent manual so I hope I do not forget too much.

I have a personal interest in the success of the Club; my wife Jill and young boys Edward and Patrick are active playing members. Since we joined in 2006, my involvement has been more on the social side – serving as a quiz master, helping Sue Spinks out with a food contribution or two, running apple bobbing on Halloween, and adding to bar profits, particularly on a Friday evening. Perhaps I will have to try a bit of tennis again, unless we can find a way to add some badminton courts!

My background is in IT and my immediate priority is to put those skills to good use in order to improve communication with all of you, ensure that membership renewal runs smoothly and provide both the Club management and coaching team with what they need to be responsive and effective.

How can I help you? I want to open the office at a range of times during the week so that if you come only in the evenings or at the weekend, it will be easier for you to ask questions, request a service etc. So the office will normally be open from 9am until midday, Monday to Friday. It will also be open from about 5pm-7pm on Tuesdays while my boys are in coaching , and then I will set some slots at weekends. Once I am established I will put a planner in the office window. Don’t forget that an email or phone call, or a note in the letterbox will be a good way to reach me too.
