‘Guys’, JJ said, in the recently introduced postmatch Baseball style huddle in the newly refurbished  showers (with additional line of coloured tiling courtesy of Vin the Print’s generosity- but not in the ladies….), ‘ Y’all played really well…’Yoh ,SPARKS!’ the team chorused), ‘We got games ..we got points, and what do points mean?’, asked JJ,’ Points mean PRIZES ‘, the team responded……..and tonight , JJ continued..:

‘Billy, good game, fine game , two all – anyone’s game, not your fault you couldn’t quite win , thereby causing eventual team defeat – why Bill, boy- you wipe that tear now, JJ don’t mean it, just a li’l rough with his words sometimes…..’

‘ nd Rich, you were good man…good ! played well, kept in there, just got to keep that darned ball away from that l’il old tin..but to lose three nil…..well that’s ok, Rich, that’s ok…heh, he’s blubbing… now..where’s bambi with the tissues when you want him ?’

‘And Monkeyglands, nuts or whatever they call you now, you come here Kev and dry your eyes , I know, he was only 18 and you nearly got one …….point….. that is ..still 0-27, keeps the scoring nice ‘n’ simple….’

‘And Jermaine, last game ….two down but tight…and tedious man…so tedious,up and down the wall…up and down…ok for that exhibition stuff but here man we entertain…what do we do?’ ‘ENTERTAIN JJ!’ THAT’S RIGHT !…so next time Jermaine, mix it up, tin it, get the game over for Chris’ sake…gotta get to the bar…..so you may lose..so what…just join the rest of them…Oh Jeez Jermaine, Yo’ blubbering too ?’

‘So, which match left then ? ‘ Yours JJ’, was the refrain…..and what happened? ‘Yo’ won JJ…’ ‘Louder , louder, insisted JJ …’ Yo’ WON JJ…WON !!’  ‘And a great display’, continued JJ…’ consistent, immaculate line,  length, cross courts, drops, style, immaculate……just…immaculate…’
‘Yo, JJ, Yo’s Da Man tonight…Yo’s Da Man’ ‘Yep’, reckoned JJ, and Us all…SPARKS win their first ever set in Div 1….Big Macs ,  Milky Bars and Club Centenary Shirts  All Round !
