Summer Tennis Tournament

Saturday 11th July saw our Club members battling to win a fine array of silverware.

The quality of the matches and the results demonstrated a wide breadth of talent and experience. So we had Juniors including James Wilson, Jack Matthews, James Everett and Henry Whyte triumphing in their categories, and experience winning through as well. It was great too some see younger talent in action.

Our top Juniors James Wilson, Henry Whyte, James Everett and Jack Matthews secured the two men’s singles and a doubles event. However  experience had its own merits with Norman O’Neill, Dick Ward, Nick Lambrou, Suzie Russell, among others triumphing. It was great to see a true representation of all ages and experience at the club in action.

The organising team had done a great job of ensuring that the Tournament went smoothly and made a contribution of over £500 to Club funds. They even did their best with the weather, with only a couple of short showers interrupting the day.

News & Events

After all the excitement and expenditure of energy during the day, it was nice to relax and enjoy the not inconsiderable talent of Salvatore De Concilis. We were treated to a fine selection of different musical genres complete with vocals. The event was a sell out, the wine flowed and a few brave souls ventured on to the dance floor.
